QuickASCII
QuickASCII is a console-based movie player and picture viewer powered by Quicktime.

###### Requirements

> Mac OS X
> Quicktime
> Terminal application
> (Want a windows version?)

###### Usage tips

> Make the window really, really big and set the scale to something like 2.25
> Run with the --help flag to learn how to set the scale and use other options.
> You get a better framerate if you use GLterm instead of Terminal.app. It uses OpenGL, and is really fast (still think OpenGL-based terminals are silly?)
> If your terminal is white-on-black, use the --invert (or -i) flag to invert the luminence of the movie.

> NEW (11/14/02): enable color support by using the the --color (or -o) flag.

###### Other notes

You can find QuickASCII's SourceForge project page at http://sourceforge.net/projects/quickascii/.

This project is based on an Apple demo located at http://developer.apple.com/samplecode/Sample_Code/QuickTime/Goodies/ASCIIMoviePlayerSample.htm.

Jonas Maebe has made his own improvements to the Apple player here, many of which have now been merged into QuickASCII.
